THE STORY BEHIND CRISTIAN AND HIS MISSION

BACKGROUND:

Cristian Morales is running as a Republican for California’s 43rd Congressional District, which includes Compton, Watts, Hawthorne, Inglewood, Gardena, Lawndale, and Torrance. Cristian brings valuable business experience and a unique perspective shaped by his personal and professional background. Born in Guatemala and raised by highly educated Guatemalan parents, his family immigrated to the United States during the Cold War of the 1970s. Inspired by his family, Cristian went on to earn a Master’s in Industrial and Labor Relations and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Cornell and Purdue. His 20+ year career in manufacturing including Automotive, Aerospace, and Defense leading multicultural teams across every demographic and age group, combined with his early upbringing in Guatemala, has shaped Cristian into an insightful and broad-minded leader. His political beliefs stem from his personal background and management approach where he genuinely connects with people and is known in the workplace as an advocate For All Voices. A fair-minded and accomplished businessman, Cristian wants to bring that same approach to politics, focusing on California’s labor movement, immigration, economic opportunity, and the issues affecting working families. The most pressing issue Cristian wants to address is how our differences have caused us to stop discussing and working together to resolve the complex problems our country currently faces.

PURPOSE:

Cristian is running to be a strong voice for working families in California’s 43rd Congressional District. He believes in improving the quality of education so Californians have the skills needed to compete in today’s economy, making it affordable to do business in California again, and expanding job opportunities for working-class and blue-collar Americans who have been left behind. Immigration will also be at the forefront of Cristian’s agenda, building upon work he has already begun through his nonprofit’s Northern Triangle and Triark Project.

The main pillars Cristian aims to address in Congress are the economy, affordability, housing costs, crime, homelessness, healthcare, and civil rights. California ranks near the bottom in many measures affecting the cost of living, affordability, and the ability of businesses and working families to succeed. Cristian believes Governor Gavin Newsom’s policies have contributed to an environment that has made California increasingly difficult and expensive for businesses, resulting in lost economic opportunities and jobs. The loss of manufacturing and other working-class jobs has particularly hurt communities that depend on stable, well-paying employment. Cristian believes the Democratic Party has moved away from its traditional roots as the party of labor and has become increasingly aligned with wealthy elites, Big Tech, Hollywood, and the media. He believes the Republican Party has an opportunity and a responsibility to become a stronger advocate for working people. Companies that once viewed California as an attractive place to do business are increasingly choosing to expand or relocate elsewhere, and Cristian wants to fight to make California competitive again.

Together, with your support, we can make a change - revitalize the California Dream. It won’t be easy. The deck is stacked against us. However, with faith, we can begin to turn and improve things around for California's 43rd Congressional District.
